Chalk another to the long list of kids beaten to death by their family during lockdown. At least his nan got another 2 QOLYs, though.
Such an awful case. Overstretched and underfunded social workers combined with deceitful parents and pandemic restrictions to leave a child dead.
The learning in these cases is so often recently “we need more social workers and better resourced social care”, but all that will actually happen is a few extra tick boxes will be added to existing forms, or even more paperwork added to a social worker’s daily life in the name of accountability.
