The funniest is when you rely on this, go take the train and it’s delayed. Travelled extensively from Kirchberg to Walferdange over a few months recently, I think it was more often late than on time

On a serious note, they don’t take the same route so it’s somewhat expected. It’s like comparing travel times on the circle line vs. the Victoria line between Victoria Station and King’s Cross St Pancras.
Still, that the tram takes significant detours.

To be fair, the Pfaffenthal train station was created with the intention of shortening travel times to Kirchberg, so it’s no wonder that the train between Luxembourg and Pfaffenthal acts as a shortcut if compared to the tram.
