Well my grandmom has picked blueberries from her summer house for 50ish years with one of these and every year it seems that more blueberries grow compared to last year. So one anecdote for these pickers.

I’ve never heard of them doing damage to anything.
You push it through the plant and pull gently upwards. Don’t do a whole bush at once, or it will clog.

Very slightly may tear off a leaf or two but damage is not major or something that the plant cant recover from in a year.

thanks for the replies everyone! guess i wont have to get eaten alive my mosquitoes sitting in one spot for half an hour picking by hand anymore

If you use it gently, only leaves a little bit.
The plant will be fine.
