Sono in crociera tra i meravigliosi fiordi. Mozzafiato.
La cosa strana è che continuiamo a trovare queste case che, giuro, sembrano completamente inaccessibili. Sono troppo lontane dal mare per essere raggiunte in barca e non sembra esserci alcun sentiero che parta da lì.
Cosa mi sfugge?

Most of these are farmhouses that were first built a long time ago, usually somewhere on the mountainside where there is a patch of flat-ish land that was suitable for farming. Back in the day farmland was hard to come by, and any patch of land large enough to support a family would have been interesting to settle, even if it meant hauling materials up a literal mountain to build a house and barn there.
There are some funny anecdotal stories about farms like these that never paid taxes, because back in the day taxes were physically collected by a tax collector. These farms would often have nothing more than a narrow path leading to them, usually involving ladders or stairs. Some clever farmers simply removed the ladder when they knew the tax man was coming.
These days their usage will vary, some might still be inhabited, others may be used as holiday homes, and others will be abandoned.

Where no one believes anyone could live
It’s not built on a sheer cliff.
There is most certainly a path and some flat land around which is not visible to you due to perspective and tree cover.
I’ve been to very similar places and it looks almost ordinary when you’re there, but the trees, perspective and distance make it look way different from the fjord
This is a place no-one could tru that anyone could bu
It’s about survival when all the better farming land are already taken.
You can find spots of better microclimate on mountain sides. The land may be slightly less angled than the rest of the mountain side, the sun hits at a better angle and there’s protection against wind. People found these spots where you can grow a crop, started farming it and settled there.
Houses were built through hard work. They would spend two or three days lugging a single piece of lumber up. Then repeat until you have materials to build a small house. Its not much but it is survival.
You will be surprised how many people who live at this type of remote places across the whole country.
There is a program called ‘where no one believes anyone could live’ interviewing people who lives remote.
24 seasons and still going, in a country with 5 million people.
Måren: 6 people lives there when this episode was made (2008)
