Hei! Here’s another progress update on my map of Northern Europe.

I figure the Finns will be particularly pleased with this one – while Finland was absent from my last update, it is now complete, while Sweden and Norway are largely empty. Maybe I’ll even leave them that way.

I’ve mapped out everyone’s easter egg suggestions for Norway, and I’ll see about doing the same for Sweden before getting started on Scandinavia itself.

I hope you appreciate my hyper-realistic depiction of whales, as well as the studied accuracy of my well-researched inscription.

This has been one of my most enjoyable projects yet, and I’m looking forward to showing it off at some art markets this fall.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for what symbols or runic markings to put at the bottom of the scroll in the upper left, or if anyone can supply me with a runic text to be used as a sort of bookend on either side of the map!

And if you like my style, I have plenty of other maps you can check out on my profile.

P.S. The map now contains two pairs of great tits – see if you can spot them!

    Nice map👍

You’re missing the Ä (the umlauts on A) from Jyväskylä and Hämeenlinna. Those are extremely important, as A and Ä are two different vowels in Finnish.

Finland is also not officially Scandinavian, but rather Fennoscandian. I think “The Nordics” is a more accurate term to refer to the countries rather than just Scandinavia, which only refers to Sweden, Norway and Denmark

    Love it!

Especially the Baba-Yaga hut in the middle of nowhere at Kola peninsula. It’s hard to find a more remote place for it!
