IIRC you can work 12h max in a shift and you myst have 12h between shifts. There were also some rules regarding max h in a week and max shifts in a row.
Sounds very illegal. Check your contract and consult with darba inspekcija.

12 hour shifts is normal but if you work more than that months base hours (august 176 hours) than for each hour above that you should get paid +100% rate.

This is absolutely illegal and unethical.
It used to suck for us locals as well, but in the recent years most of us have wisened up about our rights and it’s much harder for employers to pull this shit on us, in comparison to 10-20 years ago when this was very prevalent. But it seems that the shady business owners didn’t have to “suffer” for long as now they can abuse immigrants instead of us lol. Report this with Valsts Darba Inspekcija, and even better if you can gather some evidence beforehand, if you have some written correspondence with your employer where working hours are discussed, screenshot them, or record a conversation next time you speak with your employer about hours or overtime pay.
