There’s two ways to react to that:
* continuing with the same politics as the last ten years while occasionally chanting “Nazis raus”. Soon these kids are able to vote. And you bet they will vote.
* fundamentally changing politics
It’s *that* simple. As long as Germany is a democracy with free and secret ballot, people are going to vote as they please if they’re not happy with what is happening. *Nothing* else will stop far right parties from being successful. No protests, no dozens of millions of tax euros for NGOs, no campaigns, no quirky Edeka ads. Not going to happen, ever.
Of course I don’t expect the people in power and their supporters to understand this, to understand democracy. They’ve had years to learn the lesson but failed. I’m only glad to be able to observe this from outside of the country.
