    If you meet the conditions (have been working for that employer for >6 months and have a kid below the age of 9 or a family member that needs aid due to a serious medical condition), then you can apply for flexible working arrangements.

    Your employer will have to reply to your request within a month and, if the request is denied, then they have to duly reason their decision. Presumably you can challenge their decision if it’s not duly reasoned. Non-compliance can land your employer a fine.
