  1. Compared to other European markets the UK is like the Wild West when it comes to aesthetic treatments. Unfortunately many are too naïve to think twice when they see a cheap and tempting offer that should make them suspicious.
    Absolutely own fault

It’s not Brazilian unless it’s done in Brazil. This is just sparkling self harm.

Ms Webb’s partner Dane Knight urged people to think of her daughters before speculating.

He also urged people to think about who is around before speaking about Ms Webb’s death.

“I [don’t want] unnecessary questions raised to the five girls, so be extremely careful on what you say and who’s around.”

I can bet that he was the one to push her to do this.

The audacity to start a Go Fund Me page.

Another Darwin Award winner. Well done.

  5. How can any subcutaneous intervention be considered non-surgical?

Would it not be sensible to require certain certifications and controls for any business carrying subcutaneous interventions? Not the same as required for a surgeon patching an artery, but something.

  6. These comments are a mess. I think the fact that the procedure was offered for sale at all if a failure of the regulators. There really needs to be proper controls on who can carry out aesthetician treatments.

Stupid people really shouldn’t be allowed to have children, now those kids have to be raised without a mother because said mum decided to do an unnecessary surgery that would do more harm than good

It is really striking how low standards are in the beauty business in the UK. In most countries on the continent, people who do any kind of procedure are highly trained professionals. Here they tend to be drop-outs whose employers have refused to pay for decent training. I’ll get my hair cut but nothing else. It’s a scandal that regulation of the industry is so poor.

That said, prices for decent treatment are exorbitant so a solution needs to begin with figure out why that is. Rents for clinic space and the fact that we train too few medical professionals are probably major reasons.

The industry isn’t only about things like BBLs. I got three bumps on my face lasered off at a clinic overseas. There are all kinds of dermatological and other treatments that aren’t necessary but that improve quality of life. People deserve safe and affordable care.

Remember when women would ask in a paranoid tone “Does my bum look big in this?”

Now “fashion” has changed to the equivalent of “Please insert a basketball into each of my arse cheeks.” and has resulted in this tragic death (and many others).

Leave your bodies alone people, except in cases where medical intervention has been recommended by a trained health professional, not some “aesthetician“ called Traceigh (themselves bright orange and 40% Botox/silicone/filler/hair extensions/and wearing about a kilo of makeup) doing the “procedure” in their kitchen/spare bedroom.

To prioritise your backside through an unnecessary medical procedure, when you have kids and a family, is as dumb as hell.

To expect people to pay for funeral expenses and associated costs is just as dumb. The comments from her partner also leave a lot to be desired.

Any person who has ‘ass’ work done for likes/social media plaudits and meets an unfortunate end fully deserves it. A good way to decrease the surplus population…

  11. Still baffles me that anyone can Botox and fillers someone without any sort of medical qualification at all. Basically Kerry from pub could do it while you sit at the bar. Why anyone would let someone inject them with something that can potentially kill them or have permanent damage is beyond me.
