Severe sentences clearly aren’t working as a deterrent.

JSO are becoming a parody of themselves. What’s their endgame? Overcrowd prisons to a point they can no longer be sent to them?
corbynista2029 on
To anyone who says sending protestors to jail will deter further protest – it won’t. History has shown that criminalising peaceful protest methods never worked, and it won’t today. Sending these people to jail will only martyr them and may actually incite further similar, or perhaps more extreme, protests.

Why are so many young people desperate to go to jail these days? Is life on the inside better than their life outside?

Surely an act of revenge will be the tipping point that sways public opinion since it worked so well last time.

“Be on the right side of history”
I hate when people use this line. I’ve studied history and the easiest way to be on the right side of history is to crush your enemies and write the history, not necessarily to do the right thing.

So Huw Edwards, literally a full on nonce and gets no jail.
These two threw a can of soup on a painting and got 2+ years.
That doesn’t sound right??

I’m genuinely convinced JSO is some sort of psyop by fossil fuel companies to make the very legitimate concerns about global warming look repulsive by association with these people.
AncientStaff6602 on
I am 100% for reducing the use of fossil fuels as much as possible. Heck I’m heavily focusing on fossil fuels in my current uni module and how to use / find green alternatives. There is so much work being done that’s actually incredibly interesting.
But these guys make so much noise all that good works just gets shat on as soon as it makes a peep. Really ticks me off

To be honest, if I were an oil company, I’d be paying people like JSO as a propaganda thing because it makes advocates for net zero and carbon reduction, probably the most important issue of the 21st century, sound like wankers. They are effectively aiding and abetting Big Oil driven by their own narcissism. High on their own supply.

If they want anything done properly they need to use force, violence and terror get results. They need to overthrow every government on the planet.

These idiots are funded by Oil companies. Anybody talking about oil companies on social media when they do something? No everyone just talking about these idiots.
Also Carbon footprint was started by BP. To take the heat off big oil and put the blame on individuals.

Well thank god these brave people could destroy a painting, without there action I never would have thought to stop my evil consumer ways. Oh wait…

What the oil companies are doing and with governments turning a blind eye to it should be as widely broadcast as possible. But, what JSO is doing is a distraction from that message. This revenge attack is just petty and the oil companies must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Convinced that JSO are funded by oil companies to demonise genuine climate activists, especially since half the comments here are all bots

Why don’t they start their own energy company built on renewables to compete with oil? They could raise money for their own research institute to demonstrate to government that alternative technologies to oil are viable.
Instead their website is focused entirely on concepts like “resistance” and “disruption”. Government is well aware of the problems of climate change, what they need are solutions.

Why don’t they actually do something.. like that deals with actual fucking oil. Literally going after stupid shit like this is a joke.
