It will be off when anyone takes a bite out of their menu, it has been an overpriced, bland place for years. Can’t see it surviving.
The funny thing is I see a lot of American style chains entering the British market with a good amount of success.
Popeye’s, Slim chickens, Chick-fil-A, etc
So I don’t get how TGI failed so badly when those are doing well and similarly I don’t understand why those aren’t discussing a take over surely they’d benefit from the instant market share?
If it saves some people’s jobs, then fine, I guess.
This isn’t really a chain that desperately needed ‘saving’ though. It’s not like it’d have been a massine blow to the nation if we ‘lost’ TGI Fridays.
I walked out of a TGI just yesterday. 3 or 4 groups waiting to be seated. No staff came assist, just one that asked we wait in the lobby, we had stood inside the restaurant to be seen and because the lobby was cold.
I left, terrible service/attitude
I used to love TGI when they first opened, such a shame, need better management
Went to one in the US over a decade ago and it was on par with McDonald’s in terms of food, yet I would hear people rave about it. It is hardly Five Guys when it comes to quality and Nando’s is better if you want a fast food/table service hybrid. I am surprised it latest this long.
