At which point CPS will pick up the private prosecution and drop it.

lol one of them was convicted and sent to prison for assaulting a woman.

Out of all the incidents they could choose, they go after the one involving police v. Muslims? Curious.

Not at all sinister that a political party is interfering with a police investigation and attempting to pick and choose which members of the public it’s wants to prosecute. Not fascisty at all.

I suddenly feel the need to quote Lord Denning

“That was such an appalling vista that every sensible person would say, ‘It cannot be right that these actions should go any further”

When a political party decides to go after anyone in a private capacity never mind a clearly provocative example everyone needs to worry.

This is already going through the system, albeit slowly. The CPS will just tell them to wait for that.

I wonder why someone who appeared on Russia Today and admires how Putin took control of Russia would want to undermine our justice system? 🤔

They can threaten all they like.

They will grift for funds and then suddenly fuck all will happen as they move on to the next populist story.

….meanwhile CPS and police go on about doing the job they are paid to do… Unlike Farage and his ilk.

Smart way to make a political point and stay in the news.

Crowd funding private prosecutions could be a great funding model for the GBNews channel. Sort of like QVC but selling low hanging justice.

Due process is a vital feature of our justice system that we cannot let these clowns undermine just because things aren’t happening at a pace that suits them.

Not a single comment here actually discussing the fact these men violently attacked armed police in an airport and were released on bail.

Whilst people making racist Facebook comments have been remanded in custody until trial.

This is why he is known as two tier keir

And it’ll go nowhere because a private prosecution needs the permission of the Director Of Public Prosecutions to progress.

    So…

    – This is already being investigated, and the CPS will then make a decision about whether to prosecute.

    – If the CPS don’t think there is a case, a private prosecution won’t achieve much, and could even not be allowed.

    – By announcing nationally they they will fund a private prosecution, Reform are achieving nothing except muddying the waters and potentially giving the defence lawyers ammunition to say their clients can’t get a fair trial, if it comes to that.

This is a stunt designed to get headlines and promote their party our press duly give them exactly what they want.

Let’s hope the CPS muscles in and takes over the prosecution, as they have the power to do. It cannot be in the public interest to have this mob dabbling in selective prosecutions.

The men who assaulted a member of the constabulary should be prosecuted and it will be a disgrace if they aren’t. But by the crown not by a political party the idea of a political party involving themselves in the legal system is rather alarming
