We will need many more such centres. Lets face it, even with Rachel Thieves budget coming, it will take years to build lots of new houses to put these new arrivals in.

I suggest we will also need more such such centres for all the homeless indigenous population of these islands who will have to wait even longer than new arrivals to be housed.

Why would you be prepared to spend that amount of money if you were so confident you can smash the gangs.

Or is it becoming apparent that it was just more hot air.

    Manage migrant centres?

Excellent where are they…Ascension Islands, St Helena, Random Uninhabited Scottish Islands??

There is no way for the Labour government to decrease the incoming numbers so it will only increase until the 2028 election, if the government change it would take a year to put a deterrence policy in force.

With increasing incoming numbers and their family reunions etc, I am pretty sure the social housing system won’t be able to bear this burden. This is going to end up in a very bad way…

    >The government says it is looking for an operator which can provide accommodation, healthcare and catering services for migrants, as well as a safe and secure environment for Border Force Officers to register new arrivals.

And here I was thinking the plan was to smash the gangs.

“Why do these people bring their women and children on such dangerous and life threatening journeys”

*Men leave their families behind so they can work, earn and send them money so they don’t have to do the dangerous journey*

“See it’s just men coming over, no women or children so how much danger can they really be in back home? Barbaric backwards people probably don’t even allow their women out the house”

No doubt one of Lord Ali’s companies will get the nice fat contract

  9. Would it not be better to have places set up in other countries where you can claim asylum and have it processed, and if you’re accepted you’re transported safely to the country? And if you turn up in a small boat on the south coast you’re immediately turned away?

If you’re claiming the asylum and talking to UK officials in either your own country or the one you are currently in, would that not essentially eliminate any incentive for snuggling gangs? Also, turning away anyone who comes on a small boat would in theory mean the only people with legitimate asylum claims we can verify are those we are properly and safely supervising? Could use an embassy or consulate or whatever for this if it is cheaper than building new purpose built buildings.

I imagine it’s probably wildly wrong, costly, inefficient etc but just wanted to see if it was plausible or a decent idea
