Not to downplay this, but it’s October so we are in flu season.
Had covid recently, assuming it is this variant.
Wife was fine. Sore throat, bit of a cough and headache but nothing too bad.
I on the other hand – it was the worst bout of it so far. Symptoms started appearing Monday, Tuesday I was literally bed bound, temperature all over the pace, massive pain in extremities, was generally getting to the point I was considering whether a hospital trip was needed. Thankfully it seemed to burn through quickly, as by the end of the week I was pretty back to normal.
Seems they have given up with naming varients cool names now. XEC sounds boring
Had Covid recently so likely this variant. Was the most mild version I’ve had. Headache for a day and hardly any cough. Wouldn’t have known I had it if not testing for work purposes
To add some context – as it says rates have gone from 3.7 last week to 4.5 per 100 000 admissions testing positive. I think of read elsewhere that during the worst, it reached over 30.
The most recent Covid I had 2 weeks ago was the worst. 3 days with sores from my lips to the back of my throat, couldn’t eat for a week, survived on soup and meal shakes.
Pretty much everyone I know has had COVID at least once over the last few months, my mates had it three times since May… Bit scary to think about the cumulative impact of repeated infections over years-decades, noones catching flu multiple times a year.
Fuck off back to 2020 with this shit why would anyone want to hear about fucking covid.
Is this detectable using the covid tests bought a year or so ago?
My whole family and friend group has been ill with all those symptoms but have tested negative. Wondering if there’s any point to testing for it any more for your average joe.
be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared be scared
I live in the US. I’ve had Covid a total of three times now. Each time was after spending less than 24 hours in London. I literally travel the entire world for work, throughout the year. India, Africa, Asia, and nothing. I’m convinced that London is a breeding ground for it.
Can we just call it what it is? A common cold, probably due to the change of weather. Doesn’t need to be hyped up with the covid variant nonsense. All these people who are “deathly ill with this variant” were you even well to start with? How did you cope with the flu before?
My mam had covid on 21/09 – sent a picture of a positive test
She went to A&E yesterday, and she’s positive again for Covid, and has a chest infection. It’s brutal out there.
Pretty sure I am coming off the tail end of this infection. Monday night my throat started hurting a lot. Tuesday morning I was just wiped out, in bed all day except for eating, shitting myself, and drinking.
Wednesday was much the same, but even on Thursday when I felt better, I was just not capable of working.
It’s only today that I feel kinda okay, and still I’m coughing stuff up and my stomach is all over the place.
The media was quick to abandon Covid the second Ukraine was invaded for the second time, which I always thought was weird and plain denialism that Covid didn’t go away.
🥱 another year another “variant”. Isn’t it strange how these variants are only discovered after no one has spoken about it or actually had it recently 🤔
It can’t be, a bloke with a silver hat claiming a plane was making clouds said it was all made up
This isn’t really news. Covid and its variants are here to stay. Thought this was common knowledge by now.
I had this couple weeks back. Absolutely brutal and a full week off work. Would not recommend!
I dont think I even qualify for a booster vaccine. Why is this only being treated as optional for the vulnerable and not available to all like in the US?
When I had the first variant for Covid my main symptom was back pain. I mean, severe and unwavering. Not regular. It’s one of the less common symptoms. Anyone experiencing this? I’ve had the same pain recently and wondered if I had Covid. I did not hurt myself, so it’s odd.
