This sort of thing is entirely predictable and therefore well within our capacity to tackle.
However, the previous administration which trumpeted the cry of “stop the boats” and “tough immigration controls” were the same people that felt it important to gut the public sector because paying tax is the sort of lefty bullshit that makes their friends sad. They also decided to hobble our connections and communications with the authorities that are closest to us because being a slightly smaller but collaborative fish in a bigger tank also made their friends sad.
Of course, after over a decade of fucking about, if the new administration can’t reverse all of their bullshit overnight and make the country perfect, they’ll pretend to be sad in a pitiful but likely successful bid, based on the promise they were right all along, to get back into power.
