So many cases of money being wasted or stolen by charities in Ireland. Really hurts the good ones.

Where there’s money, there are no good guys.
How many more ‘charities’ will be discovered to be nothing more than private slush funds?.
Its disgusting.

I guess that they’re just not McVerry Trust-worthy.

Peter McVerry and his “Trust” are essentially amateurs that the government are happy to contract as they can claim they’re doing something about homelessness.
A few months ago they were seeking a financial bail out from the government. A year or two ago they were nnthe media for a big crime incident in one of their properties where drug dealing was going on.
Realistically, they’re well meaning but largely don’t know what they’re doing.

It is so inefficient what the government has done outsourcing social housing to the private market at all levels . I honestly don’t rate these charitable trusts any better than the REITs leasing the government properties.
If you added it up there must be a few dozen housing charities up and down the country all being given funding , how is that to work more efficiently.
The average salary In some of these charities is higher than the public or private sector in lots of instances.

I know people who work there; what they have told me makes me adamant the government should never pay a red cent to any NGO. A total scam organisation by its own employee’s admission.

“Troubled” is an understatement.
The money was just resting in that account.
