“Peace is when you give aggressors everything they want.”

Wonder how he feels about a demilitarized zone in Gaza and Lebanon …

For a while, I thought Biden’s endless war strategy was a mistake, but it’s clear it’s the only way to drain Russia enough for change to come from within—like in 1918. If we settle now, it’s external pressure ending the war, not internal change. That means Russia will just recover and come back stronger for future aggression.

Why does everyone’s peace plan look like rewarding Putin 🤬

    >However, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed the plan on Monday as being “unacceptable” to Moscow, and referred instead to a set of conditions outlined by Vladimir Putin in June as Russia’s blueprint for ending the conflict.

    >Putin’s conditions, which include Kyiv pledging never to join NATO and handing over four of its regions to Moscow in their entirety, have already been flatly rejected by Kyiv.

    ok lol 😀

Many folks have investments in companies making equipment for the Ukrainian freedom fighters. Ending the conflict means many folks will lose money.

Funny thing is that a lot of people might not like this proposal (including me) because it’s giving “too much to Putin” but Putin himself would not even look at this offer because he still wants 100% of what he asked for initially – army reduction of Ukraine by 90%, Ukraine giving away territories they control in Zoporizhia and Donbas, Russian rights increased in Ukraine, no NATO ever etc. etc.

  8. That’s not a concession, it’s exactly what Putin wanted. This was the plan all along, and I’m not surprised that Erdogan is supporting it considering it’s more or less exactly what happened in Cyprus.

Remember when instead of surrender all these leaders said that the terms will be dictated by Ukraine? NATO obviously has lost hope in america’s support, so they are ready to sacrifice Ukraine’s territories and everything else that was lost for temporary peace.

Its interesting that this narrative never mentions kursk.

Well that’s the best Ukraine can hope for. If they don’t agree (and they won’t) they will lose so much more, many more obliterated cities and many more lives lost

The China peace plan 2023 was much better than this

  13. How is freezing the battlefield lines not a concession to Putin. Other than the Kursk sliver of land, it’s a net positive for ruzzia.

Erdogan is a fifth column in NATO. Pushing ultimatums on the greatest new assets to NATO(Sweden and Finland guaranteeing NATO control of the Baltic Sea), actively goading fellow NATO members Greece into a war so he can conquer them, the sole reason Cyprus isn’t in there which would give NATO full official sanction over the Eastern Mediterranean(since while fully aligned with NATO Israel can’t join due to a state of war from ’48 onwards) and more. I really hope that now that he’s hosting Hamas(an Iranian proxy and therefore aligned with Russian interests) and Trump will likely force an ultimatum regarding US participation, Europe will choose the flaky isolationist over the outright traitor.

Ask Erdogan if he would accept the same terms if it was war on his soil. Give up your own territory and also let the conqueror dictate what alliance you should stay out of going forward.

I’m not for war, but Putin is an agressor. No appeasement, make him pay dearly.

„After promising that he has no more territorial demands after the Sudetenland, let’s give the rest of Czechoslovakia to Hitler as well. That’ll satisfy his hunger for expansion forever and save peace in Europe“

There is no peace as long as Russia exists. Trust me, my country has been dealing with them for centuries. They will always be dangerous to any form of life.

  19. Leaving aside the fact that Russia basically gets everything they want out of this and Ukraine gains nothing, as long as this supposed “peace plan” doesnt involve Russia demilitarizing then this just means Russia will rearm again in the future and have one of their proxy forces like a PMC breach the ceasefire to claim plausible deniability like they did with the Minsk agreements, force Ukraine fire on them in return, then start up the war again.

Russia already committed to nationalizing many of its industries and they won’t revert them after this war is put on hold, they will insist on sanctions being removed and funds being unfrozen, they will try to rebuild their stocks of vehicles and weapons over the next few years, they will try to get more and more far right leaders elected in Europe to veto aid measures, and then they will attack again when they will be in a favorable position.

However, Ukraine will never agree to anything like this so good luck to Trump or anyone else who tries to force this unfair plan on them. They will never yield to this just like they will never yield to Russia.

In the mean time, get Ukraine into the EU, get it working and increase standards of living… continue arming it and getting it up to NATO standards. Continue and increase sanctions on Russia.
