The Azerbaijani people do not trust their government on any economic issues. But when it comes to the Armenian issue, they will completely believe everything the government says. From my experience on the Internet, it is entirely possible for an Azerbaijani to curse Aliyev as a lying dictator because of corruption and public security issues one minute, and then cheer for Aliyev as the greatest Turk the next minute because Aliyev increased military spending and attempted to blackmail the Armenian government. He himself does not think there is any contradiction between these two states, and firmly believes that although Aliyev has not told the truth on economic issues, his remarks about Armenia and France must be true.
