God forbid you answer the door and ask some hard questions!

Consider yourself lucky, imagine opening the door, and seeing him standing there

This happened to me in the last GE with the Fine Gael candidate…
… and this current election with EVERY SINGLE CANDIDATE who’s dropped off leaflets. So all of them.
This year is particularly worse, probably because I recently bought a former council house. They just cannot be bothered with people in this part of town.
Even though nowadays it’s mostly professionals and homeowners, there must be a lingering whiff of deplorability from the 60s that FF FG and the rest of them cannot be bothered with.
If they won’t even stop to ask for your vote and hear your questions WTF makes you think they’ll advance your needs when they get another 5 years?
Ps I WFH so I’m always here.

It’d be funny if you caught them on a ring doorbell

I’ve knocked on doors, and seen people and not had them come to the door and left these. You’d be surprised how often.

I would love to see him lose his seat in the election he would not be smiling then.

So far the only ones who have bothered to knock are Aontu. Luckily the missus answered the door and she hadn’t heard of them before, she was perfectly polite.
I would have torn the leaflet up in front of them and thanked them for the toilet paper.

You guys get canvassers? Living here 10 years and seen one.

Worthwhile question to ask councillors seeking election is who theyl co opt in.

Maybe have you marked down as a hostile residence 🙂
I have canvassed plenty of times and have never once seen a canvasser not ring a doorbell or give a knock at the door.
If he or his canvassers wanted to get a leaflet to you they would simply post it – much easier than going door to door on freezing evenings like this.
Perhaps you didn’t hear the doorbell or knock?

FF did the same in my estate. They dropped a few leaflets, took pictures for their socials and scarpered.

In fairness it’s not like it’s just FF who throw the “sorry we missed you” things in the letterbox.
During the local elections I got them from everyone with FG being the only ones who actually knocked on the door

A vote for this clown is a vote to end our neutrality and join the largest terrorist organisation in the world nato, not so much as a transfer for him, leave it blank

Too many questions, not enough answers. Wankers.

Was off work sick yesterday and the doorbell didn’t ring once. Sure enough there were three leaflets from different campaigners in the letter box in the hallway. Was fuming as I really wanted to meet them to give them a piece of my mind.
