I feel this sub has been talking about it for years. We all knew. They knew.

I never got caught up with it even at the time (as many flaws as I have, I can honestly and genuinely say I never did the clapping or got caught up in any of the weird lockdown pantomime stuff, did watch Squid Game though…) but it is kind of sad and depressingly representative of 2020’s UK that this supposedly wholesome thing was basically just a posh Gofundme scam.

The entire thing was an organised PR set up. It was always obvious.
If I donate to charity now I stick to local charities with clear aims who I trust will actually do well. The globalisation of the charity sector exists solely to give low-skilled, middle-class humanities graduates well paid jobs.
