Let’s be real, Europe has a serious deficit in military personnel. It has been dependent on the US for so long that it has forgotten the need for its own soldiers.
There are many countries in Europe that don’t actually have an organized military anymore (Italy and Spain are prime examples)
We urgently need a federation to create the grand army of Europe.
Why?
Very simple. Imagine that someone ^(putin) attacks Europe and is completely decimated from the Earth’s surface by an army with the acronym GAE
The last thing Europe needs is more higher echelons HQs. Eurocorps has not real capacity. If anything Europe needs more combat brigades, fires brigades, and aviation /ISR formations
All EU military initiatives basically failed so far. Posts about EU army being the future, having plans to be the next super power and than it fizzles out. Maybe someday there will be a European army but it will take decades of constant work to make it happen.
I hate Macron but we need him to convince the other countries to do more for a european army.
That’s a lot of words to say no one will put money into it. No one trusts it!
