    What… no… the dream of Bulgar-Romanian superpower in shambles…

Thanks a lot, Austria 😒 This is why we can’t have nice things, like Dacia Hyper, the fastest supercar with fusion engine (this would be real if Romania was in Schengen)

I’m starting to dislike the austrian Chancellor.

Simple question, did they confirm to all the things we asked of them? The rules we set?

I feel that Ro & Bg need to strong-arm / extort Austria / EU diplomatically otherwise it’ll always be like this. Something like, Ro quietly cracks down on all Austrian interests in Romania – sends the Ro IRS to open up a branch in every Ro subsidiary of Austrian companies, potentially hampering Ro OMV activities with “financial audits” to the point where over a few months, it starts to affect Austrian revenue projections. Then they can talk. Same goes for Bg – every Austrian turist ( not many but still ) gets thoroughly checked “randomly”. All Austrian interests harassed beyond what Austria can afford. Then the tables will turn. Ro & Bg need to take their Schengen access. And then never let up.

So far Austria’s like “what’s in it for me” and Ro & Bg are like “Dude, what? We did what was requested! You want a bribe?”

Jesus fucking christ, not this again. How about we just leave Austria out of Schengen and invite Romania and Bulgaria? Like, what the hell is their problem? They fear they’ll get even more Russian spies? It’s not happening, Russia hit diminishing returns long time ago.

Austria doing the dirty job for Germany since 1871.

I don’t think sending these signals before the Romanian president election is taking place and one of the anti-EU candidates is favored to win is a good idea.

This article is funny. They claim that he indicated that Austria is “is unlikely to remove its veto just yet” but the only thing they quoted from him is “*We see that these efforts are paying off, and we want to continue on this path*,”(not to mention that this quote is actually like 2 weeks old and was said in regards that Austria is now willing to reconsider their veto due to the progress Romania and Bulgaria made but i guess twisting reality generates more clicks)

Why is it always the smaller EU country that has the loudest, entitled and arrogant approach?

    Austria is welcome to leave.

    This douchebag again !

Bruh, give us a goddamn break, man, it’s not like we’re coming over to do your “good” jobs !

  17. What a bunch of fake news. I can’t find anything about this.

Quite the opposite: Today Austrian Newspaper Kurier literally posted “Austria gives in: Romania and Bulgaria to become Schengen members from January?” citing the nomination of Magnus Brunner to EU Comissar of immigration – who has signaled approval – and Minister Karner seeming open to it. So I can’t find any source that would suggest Austria has changed its mind again.

Didn’t they give in though? That statement is a few weeks old now. But hey, Austria bad I guess
