The goal of russian occupiers has remained unchanged for centuries: to erase Ukraine from the world map.

The Holodomor Memorial Day serves as a stark reminder that the enemy is willing to use any means to achieve its goals—even hunger as a weapon. It is a day when we honor the memory of the millions of Ukrainians who perished in the inhumane crimes orchestrated by the Kremlin’s regime.

In the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, russia tried to conceal the mass killings of Ukrainians, burying the truth alongside the victims in mass graves. They lied, denied, and distorted historical facts. Today, they continue to act in the same way, using the same criminal methods.

The current russian regime is once again weaponizing grain, threatening hunger not only in Ukraine but across the globe. Yet now, in the 21st century, the enemy will not go unpunished.

We are already holding them accountable. We are destroying the russian fleet that blocks the grain corridor. We are striking bases and depots used to plan the destruction of our agricultural potential. We are shooting down missiles and drones aimed at depriving the world of Ukrainian grain.

We are fighting for a peaceful future for Ukraine and the world. We remember the tragedies of the past and avenge our tortured ancestors. Ukraine will prevail. russian evil will be punished.

That memorial was the most impactful experience of my trips to Ukraine. Astounding beyond belief almost what the people of Ukraine have experienced simply by being ruZZias neighbors.
If Ukrainians are properly armed and equipped, I have no doubt that they will make ruZZia pay.
