Compared to more than 50% in Norway for instance, where almost 100% of the new registered cars are electric.

it‘s also damn near impossible to get at-home-charging as a renter. and if your building is new, they charge you so much for it, people don‘t switch.

Die dargestellten Informationen entsprechen keiner offiziellen Statistik des Bundes und es können aufgrund methodischer Unterschiede und abweichender Datengranularität Abweichungen entstehen.

On the side which made the statistics, does anyone has any idea how they collect these informations?

Because you have to be insanely rich to own one lol.

Switzerland has excellent public transit, which means that a lot of people commute without a car. They need a car for long weekend trips and vacations. The advantage of an electric car is less.

Many Swiss people rent an apartment, which may or may not have a parking spot, and even if it had one, it may not come with a charging station.

There should be more public charging spots, and the price of electricity of those should be much lower, to entice people to switch to electric/PHEV.

Buying an electric car in Switzerland is certainly not done for environmental reasons.

Driving the Weissenstein Pass or up to Kerenzerberg is often described as a special kind of pleasure but NOT with an electric car. Please, flatten Switzerland and drive more electric cars – not.

It will increase. Ultimately it doesn’t make a big difference, building & transporting new cars creates a ton of emission plus rare earth for batteries is not that sustainable. Cars are just cars.

I mean, buying a new EV every 4 years is not going to save the planet. Maybe just use public transport, or buy a used car? Either of those would result in less emissions.

I think it’s because at the places, where you can use electric cars without any problem, you got already good public transport… if i would get an electric car, i wouldn’t be able to use it in winter because of the streets and in summer our local power grid is on it’s limit, so I couldn’t charge…
