Parking area for cars (vehicles <3,5t). Trucks and vans (without vignette) can park on workdays between 7h00 – 19h00.

  2. Parking allowed for cars equal or under 3.5T.

Second part refers to less desirable emission trucks being able to be there between the opening hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

  3. Vignette means simply means “Parking permit”. Some towns in luxembourg have restrictions for van parking – typically to give priority to citizens and their visitors and avoid that companies block the parking with their vans. Vans need to apply for a parking permit and in some tows also have to pay a tax. The detailed rules are communal rules and different for each town
For details you need to check the website of the town in which you found this sign (For the capital this is for example explained in https://www.vdl.lu/en/getting-around/car/parking/van-parking , for schifflange on https://schifflange.lu/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Demande-dune-vignette-de-stationnement-pour-camionnettes_v02.pdf)

Thank you all for answering. So a van under 3.5t, classified as a car can park here?

Park your car only if it can fit inside truck with 3.5 ton capacity (Later the truck will be used to tow your car)

Everyone has posted the correct information here, but I’d just like to add that good God, the parking signs in Luxembourg are SO confusing. Different format to anywhere else in Europe. I have gotten parking fines that, even in retrospect, I am pretty sure I correctly followed the signs. At least they don’t tow here, unless you do something really egregious.
