Why don’t they exist in Finland? most places have double windows, they trap the cold inside and in the chamber where it’s stored (which the old design is the box on the oustide and newer ones is with a massive whole in the wall with a wood plate in the inside of the room they are) and they are a hell to repair (I used to have them in Spain). I prefer not having to deal with them. Just get a pair of courtains

Mostly our windows are with triple class and we have about 2 weeks hot sun in a year. That is frozen 6 months every year and it needs a hole in the wall for that strap to operate and you don’t wan’t that in winter. Even the electric ones…. no.

Small market so it’s not worth educating consumers. Also the utility of this item is limited because it’s mostly cold here.
I also wanted this for the 100% blackout effect but importing & installation was too expensive.
There are other things that I want but couldn’t find:
– high end japanese toilet seat
– stiff mattress

Looks like safety things. Why not? Because Finland is safe enough. But on other hand, you get small discount on home insurance, but i still don’t think it’s worth.

Water getting there between the wall/window and that thing, freezing and causing damage.
