These alerts came from various partners as well. We contacted the authors and suggested they review the title and adopt an approach consistent with the history curriculum standards. The authors worked on it, made the necessary changes to the title, which were accepted by us, and sent it to the foundation,” explained Tamara Sargsyan.

>It is worth noting that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday called on the Armenian authorities not to allow the 8th-grade history textbook to be introduced in Armenian general education schools. The statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned that “in one of the chapters of this textbook with questionable content, the events of the late 18th and early 19th centuries in the South Caucasus are distorted, diminishing Russia’s role.” Specifically, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the evaluations of the outcomes of the Russo-Persian War of 1826-1828 have been reinterpreted in the history textbook.
