Qualcuno può tradurmi questa lettera? L’ho ricevuta dalla Lituania da una famiglia che ho appena scoperto di avere.

It’s possible to make sense of this, there’s as many grammatical errors as there are words. This I presume old dude is inviting you over basically.

  2. I can tell you whats on the second part… It says if you can come dont spend money on presents.. and that he now lives in lithuania not Russia … The first part is hard to understand … Something about a wife that he buried…sister or daughter that lives in kaunas …something about the house and a flat..don’t know.. loads of grammar mistakes , and i imagine its an old person.. cos some words we dont use anymore ..

As a Lithuanian, i can’t read this handwroted message (my handwriting is worse)

  4. 1st page: his girls live in Kaunas, he lives alone now and is very bored.

2nd page: he invites you for a visit and asks not to waste money on presents.

    that’s all I could understand

Its very hard to translate because its written in bad/broken Lithuanian language. Some words are hard to understand but Ill try and im sure someone will correct me:
    “My dear Jeknu,
Im very sorry that because I lost the address. Writing I live in house alone. Staukas lives in his own house, girls live in Kaunas, in their own home so that m alone in the house.”
Then it goes about someone being buried and something about the money and that person being bored, i think….
“I would like to know how you live, sorry for bad writing.
Waiting for a response and you can come to Kaunas and I will pay for the taxi” I think….
    Address: Kauno raj, Babtų sen.
Panvizukas Belaišis Vytautas (looks like a name of the person who wrote it)
    Date: 2024.10.05….???

    Second page:
“If its possible to come, do not spend any money, don’t bring any gifts, live in Lithuania now.”

So the the first page basicaly tells that he’s living alone, all of the family has moved out. His wife died a year ago, and now he doesnt know what to do. Hes bored. He’d like to know how you are doing, and he’s sorry for something.

I cant make out everything after, but thats the idea of it

  7. My dear xxx?

xxxx (I feel like he meant to write firstly but missed the second word for “visu pirma”), I am very sorry, because lost xxxx, to penpal(to write back and forth/chat in writing).

I live alone in the home, Staukas (name? last name?) lives in his own home, the girls live xxxx(some location maybe Kaunas idk), in their own home so I am alone at home.

I buried my wife(It sounds somewhat aggressive in English, but it’s not meant that way it just implies that wife has died) I actually can’t tell what is written here until “noriu zinoiti below”.

I want to know how are you doing I’m sorry that I write rough. I am waiting for an answer, or could also meet. (this ends at o galetu ir susitikti). Genuinenly can’t decipher much after, but it seems to be something about how to come / taxi/ payment?(is he offering to pay for the taxi?)

Sorry that’s kinda the best I can do it’s quite rough (but hey he atleast apologizes for it).

There are a lot of grammar and writing mistakes, so I did the best I could. If anyone has any corrections or insights feel free to add.

    My dear _____,

First, I am very sorry, I lost the address. I live alone in the house, Staukas (? might be a nickname or a name) lives in his own home; the girls live in Kaunas (?) in their own home as well, so that’s why I am alone.

I buried my wife a year ago, (can’t read the next two words), so my life is pretty boring.

I want to know how you are doing, so that’s why I’m writing this.

I am waiting for your answer, you can come back to visit, too.
(I’m not sure how to translate the next part but something along the lines of come to Kauno r., get a taxi and come straight to me, I will pay for ir when you get here)

(The next part that is put in a square is the address, it reads: Kauno raj, Babtų sen, Panevežiukas. 2024-05-10 (? not sure on this) and the next is his name. Belaišis Vytautas (surname, name))

If you can come there is no need for extra expenses or gifts. (Not sure about this part) We live in Lithuania now. (Not Russia).
