Betting companies are a business. Why would they reduce advertising? They pretend they care about addiction, they dont.

Amount of free bets i get from Will Hill to basically encourage me to gamble and spend my own money

Doesn’t surprise me in the least, I’m amazed it isn’t more.

I’ll listen to TalkSport and the gambling adverts are constant, but then on top of that the shows have sponsored segments with the likes of Coral and William Hill where a spokesperson from those companies will talk to the hosts about what bets have good odds and what special offers they have too.

Two other sponsors I’ve heard are Selco and a van company, everything else is gambling. The MGM Casino advert with Chris Rock is on at least twice an hour.

The gambling industry is such a drain on society I’m shocked it isn’t more villainised. Huge amounts of social harm, enormous financial drain on public resources and it doesn’t even have a productive output, just offshores huge amounts of profits and let’s the taxpayer clean up the social degradation it leaves behind. The industry relies on problem gamblers to make it’s money, it’s disgusting.

Feels like half the ads on TV at the minute are for gambling. What makes it worse is that they’re all really fucking annoying ads too.

I don’t see how tobacco advertising is banned and gambling isn’t.

I always felt it so weird how big the gambling industry is in the UK and how widely it’s simply just accepted given the damage it does and the drain it is.
