Why are we like this? We used to build such good bridges and buildings and infrastructure. Now we pay billions for a bunch of contractors to tell us we can’t do it.
Can someone explain to me why it should cost that much to plan? I understand that engineering isn’t exactly cheap, but why is the planning so expensive?
Why are we SO BAD AT GETTING SHIT DONE?
We conquered half the planet, now we can’t build a tunnel.
If Sky had done any research, including a quick look at the Wikipedia page of the Laerdal Tunnel. They would have found that since 2019, the longest tunnel is in fact, the WestConnex in New South Wales.
>The forecast cost of WestConnex has grown from A$10 billion[1] to over $45 billion.[1] Once land acquisitions,[2] network extensions development costs and the cost of operations[3] are accounted for, the total cost is forecast to be at least $20 billion and possibly as much as $45 billion.
With 1 GBP being either A$1.95.
London should just stop expanding, we already spend way too much on you. If you want to find a few billionaires to invest in your infrastructure that would be fine, just stop wasting our money on vanity projects.
