I think the previous renter tore the cable out of the outlet. Have you tried to take of the outlet cover by removing the screw?

Is that for Vodafone?? U shud check for the main box . If it’s Vodafone, u r doomed !
First we need to know if you are looking for a DSL connector or cable. Cable is the upper connector which says “DATA” just plug in your router there and hope that the backend is connected and it’s not the wire coming out of the wall. If you are looking for DSL this one is wrong. Best way would be to call your provider and ask for help. Normally they set it up.
And that’s why we advice every to make an appointment with a technician to get this stuff set up.
