Americans aid is mostly in lethal weapons.
So I’d say it’s the most important one. You can’t fight a war without it.

Ukraine is in Europe. We should be the most active party in support. Then again the US has good partnerships with the EU and a small and decreasing list of other countries. Turning the back on Europe is not in the interest of the US.

Amazing what a whole continent can do compare to one country.
Also this doesn’t figure in the cost of equipment sent with the presidential draw down authority.

It’s not really a competition. Any country against colonial conquest and land grabs should be supporting Ukraine.

As it should be. Europe needs to nut up and fight its own wars, not hide behind the US.

How much of the European total is “allocated” on weapons that are not yet delivered.
The great majority of US spending was delivered immediately, since unlike Europe the US kept stockpiles.

According to recent data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), there is a significant disparity in government support for Ukraine between Europe and the United States. As of early 2024, European commitments to Ukraine have surpassed U.S. pledges, with the EU and its member states committing approximately €144 billion. However, only about €77 billion of that has been allocated for specific purposes, revealing a gap between promised and delivered aid .
Currently, U.S. aid has stalled due to Congressional gridlock, with no new support packages approved recently. This situation poses a challenge for Ukraine, as Europe would need to double its military assistance to make up for the potential decline in U.S. support . Notably, the U.S. has historically provided more substantial military aid than Europe, emphasizing the need for coordinated and consistent support from European nations to ensure Ukraine’s continued defense .
The IfW’s findings suggest that for the EU to effectively support Ukraine, especially if U.S. aid decreases, there must be a concerted effort to increase military and financial commitments in the coming months .

This is why it’s so triggering when Trump says that Europe isn’t paying as much to help Ukraine as the U.S. does. It’s a complete lie.

total committed governmental aid to Ukraine amounted to **397.09 billion euros** by the end of August 2024
(adding up European, American, Canadian, Japanese, Australian etc. aid)
total allocated aid is **265.38 billion euros**
total allocated military aid is **114. 79 billion euros**
**US still accounts for 50% of all governmental military aid allocated to Ukraine so far ,so its contribution shouldn’t be diminished**

This shows old data, [the US has spent over $175B](https://www.cfr.org/article/how-much-us-aid-going-ukraine) on Ukraine since 2022 with $106B going directly to Ukraine.
