Good. Shocking that this has taken so long to be processed by the CPS – meanwhile a woman that posted a video of the riots on TikTok is already in jail

How very noble and not at all self serving of him, and of the mail, of course, to faithfully relay word of his good deeds to the masses without an ulterior motive in sight 👀

If the rumours on social media are true about why such a heavy handed approach was taken to anything Southport related, you can see why Starmer was desperate to silence any rumour being spread.

Problem is they tried to do the same here with a cover up. Selective footage and statements being released to tell one side of the story, and it took someone leaking the actual cctv footage to show what really happened.

If Starmer had any sense, he’d be rushing to get this lot charged

This is exactly the problem with the state applying the law extra hard in some cases (the far right rioting) and then prevaricating over potentially controversial charges like this – you leave a gap for the likes of Farage, Robinson etc to run right through.

I’m fully aware he’s only doing it for his own political reasons but who can honestly say Farage doesn’t have a point?

Wasn’t this the case where the police officers beat the shit out of the brothers? Enough that at least one wound up in hospital with some long term injuries.

I wonder if the CPS were planning to wait and see how long term those injuries were before going through with a prosecution. If you have someone who’s fully recovered, you might aim for a higher sentence than someone who’s still suffering the after effects of police brutality.

But…Nige is gonna Nige. Just jump in and kick the ball rolling now regardless of anything else, just for a few headlines. It feels very Tommy Robbinson – wading into court matters, potentially compromising them, just to try and make some political capital.

Look at it this way – is Farage’s intervention going to make a prosecution more likely to succeed, or less?

Can we please have some kind of warning next to daily heil links? I feel dirty.

I did put a comment in about two tier policing which Farage did not actually say so in the interest of correcting the record.

I am rabidly anti DM and Farage brand in general.

I am disappointed that the authorities allowed an air gap in this which the far right could exploit. It’s clearly a case of two arseholes trying to seriously injure and kill police. Caveat – we don’t actually know for sure what happened before the pics and video – though none of it can excuse fully the violence these men carried out against the police.

My feeling is the CPS will be making sure their case is water tight before going to prosecution in case some clever defence lawyer manages to exploit a loophole in the evidence and have the whole thing thrown out which will, in turn, probably inflame the far right even more.

As for Starmer – yeah he should have commented blandly on this. If I was his spin guy I would have told him to say ‘Attacks on the police are un acceptable as is heavy handed policing. We now need to ensure that the CPS speedily but diligently gets to the facts’.

Remember – people like Farage prejudice cases like this by commenting directly. He probably does it intentionally so that he can get the result he wants – he’d love for these two little scrotebags to be acquitted as he could use it to further stoke far right resentment.

Is nazi Nigel still banging on about two tier policing? It’s nice of him to, probably certainly, destroy any hope of an uncontested conviction against these two criminals just to get some news paper headlines. Nazi Nigel showing once again that he thinks he is more important than the country.

to all the armchair pint in hand, chips and gravy drooling out of the corner of your mouth folk..

This wont stand up in court. If you actually have eyes, and above room temp IQ and some critical analysis of all the information you can clearly see the police engaged first. I am baffled by how inept so many of our nations people are.

For those who believe in propaganda and need to be spoon fed with a bib ill break it down:

[Here is the video so you can use those clearly failing eyes to watch with my commentary.](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/video/2024/jul/28/greater-manchester-mayor-urges-restraint-after-new-airport-footage-emerges-video-report)

The police, **without warning**, approached a blind spot choked/ neck grabbed the first brother and then slammed him into the ticket machine and started to “arrest him”. Youre not allowed to do this. The police are supposed to explain why theyyre detaining you first, not start man handling you and then explain. Notes: they werent resisting arrest at the point of trying to get a parking ticket.

Brother two then CLEARLY grabs the police officers HAND THATS CHOKING HIS BROTHER. The police officer -here stated that he felt the brother was “going for his gun” on his hip. The classic “my arm is my hip” logic, and punched brother 2.

The Police initiated the assault. The video evidence, which will be unblurred in court, supports this and has been corroborated BY the police themselves.

    Female officers: (blonde and “red”)

Now after the male officer throws 2-3 punches at brother in grey, he OFC fights back. The female officer – blonde hair in black cap, then starts punching the brother in grey as well and it becomes 2 officers punching someone now defending himself.

THIS is when brother blue, after two officers have 1) intiated the fight 2) started punching his brother, starts hitting the blonde officer who has been striked his brother from the side/ back.

    “Red” haired officer:

This is the officer all you white knight christian crusader Faragists have been up in arms about. Its this officer all of you believe was innocently striked and nose bloodied.

The whole time during the video, shes been trying to hold brother blues right arm in a lock -unsuccessfully. When both officer start to assault his brother, he think first strikes the officer in blonde. Now here is where the footage gets unclear. Around 0:22 – 0:23 in the guardian video the red haired officer, who looks like shes around 5ft 4, raises her elbow above her neck/ head onto the HEAD LEVEL of brother in blue, and it moves in a tangent.

Two possibilities here – again the blurring masks the actions of the officers, and gives them slight ambiguity. At that point brother blue IS hitting blonde officer – with one arm. Between the red hair officer doing this action and blonde haired not backing off – at 0:24 the brother in blue has now TURNED and is using the left arm he hit the blonde officer to crack 2-3 shots into the face of the red haired officer – who drops to the floor and releases his left arm, which he uses to push her down slightly. He was NOT hitting her prior to when she raises her arm over her head. She either also hit him – where he responded, OR he was pulling his arm up and taking her arms with him – which doesnt make sense as hje would have to have HIS elbow above her head for her elbow to be over her head as well which it isnt in the video. Its likely also the red headed police tried/ hit him too.

    tl;dr

its not only the tories that ruined this country but the utter low iq inbreds who cannot even properly assess a video without bias.

2 officers initiated an assault on two unarmed men. 1 officer it remains if she did hit them too. They defended themselves – were tazerd and then one of them kicked in the face.

Im happy for any of you to walk up to 2 people 1 man 1 woman on the street and ask them to choke you, slam your head into a wall from the back and then start punching you for you to not defend yourself. You all would punch the woman.

Rule of thumb – if Nigel Farage is involved you are not getting the truth and, on top of that, whatever he is doing he is doing for himself.

Let it be clear – Nigel Farage is a career grifter and a total cunt.

  11. blackleydynamo on

Farage isn’t doing it. It would cost him money, and he values money over his very soul. He’s fronting it for somebody bankrolling him behind the scenes as usual.

Literally the only real skill Farage has is talking gullible loadeds into funding his shenanigans.

  12. Electricbell20 on

He’s only doing this to stir up hate. Such a disgusting man.

Its obvious to everyone this is a complicated case and they really need to get the ducks in the row of what happened when whilst being under resourced.

The right wing riots fortunately filmed themselves from start to finishing making it incredibly easy to prosecute.

  13. No-Librarian-1167 on

This is just Farage grandstanding. There will not be a private prosecution. You can’t have two prosecutors prosecuting the same case. The CPS have the power to take over any private prosecution and do anything they see fit with it, they’ll discontinue it so it doesn’t interfere with their proper one.

Farage will then kick off about it, he’s a cynical far right arsehole who’ll use this to stoke further division and violence.

  14. LondonLeather on

Farrage’s lawyers will apply for permission to bring the case and they will be told they don’t have standing in the case I’d be surprised if it even gets a hearing it will be rejected by papers.

  15. SerboDuck on

Good. Those animals should have been in prison already, and having people sent to prison immediately for Facebook pots yet not those assaulting the police only feeds into the belief of two tier policing.

  16. Spamgrenade on

Pretty sure you have to have some sort of standing to bring a case against someone else. As this is nothing at all to do with Farage isn’t he just wasting his time and money? Surely this would be the first thing his lawyers would point out?

  17. Yeah, and the CPS will take over this private prosecution under section 6(2) POA 1985 and stop it as the prosecution may interfere with the investigation of another criminal offence or this prosecution interferes with the prosecution of another criminal charge using the case law of R (on the application of Gujra) v CPS [2012] UKSC 52.
