This feels like a strategic error, putting on the ballot was a mistake and continuing to not only back him but campaign for him smacks of hubris

Next junior minister for justice perhaps 🤔

It is shocking and not shocking how soft people are on this when they were so rabid about SF who removed the people in question from the party. People wanted MLM to resign.
People have reacted to this saying “It’s a strategic error”, “I guess they have to because it’s so close to the election”, “Don’t want to split the vote in Louth”. We knew about this before the election had been officially called! We had photos of him sexually assaulting another man this whole time! They even have another candidate in the same constituency right now so it’s not like he’s their only guy !!
Also Didn’t one of his buildings collapse and injure someone or was that a different FG candidate?

Bloody RTE bias. And Fionnan Sheehan in the Indo attacking Fine Gael on this as well. Standard establishment media bias against Sinn… Fine Gael. Against Fine Gael

I’m so glad the party of “law and order” have decided to back this criminal, there for all to see, backing someone who sticks a twix up someone’s erse and does a vicious assault on someone else really shows their contempt for the electorate

He owes Harris a twix if he gets elected.

Disgusting. He was open about raping an intoxicated man.
There’s a clear bias in the media that this isn’t being highlighted.
I’m very annoyed by this.
Sexual assault isn’t a joke.
He should not be in public office at all. Vile individual.
A sad day for anyone who has experienced sexual violence. Too many people haven’t been taken seriously.
Can someone explain how he managed to beat the criminal assault charge and was only found liable in a civil case.

Unbelievable. If this were SF all hell would be let loose

Is he expected to get in?

One thing that’s overlooked in this story is the wife is also a victim in this. McGahon put his arm around her apparently in a “mauling” way and said “you’re coming with me.” Her husband is in his 50s, so she must be too. How disrespectful? Just shows you what a shitebag he is. Not only does she suffer the indignity of getting pawed by this tubby turd, she then has to watch her husband who came to her defence getting his face battered into the ground. It must have been a terrifying ordeal for her.
Also, another note. Does anyone think RTE would include the photo of the guy’s injuries if it was a Sinn Fein member who committed the assault?

This is the type of scum that FG attract.

What a stupid own goal.
A bad candidate is worse than no candidate when they can tar the party.
And I refuse to believe FG couldn’t find somebody better

Remember guys, it’s perfectly alright to shove twixes where the sun doesn’t shine and beat the shite out of people as long as you’ve the right father. Embarassing, but not surprising
