To be fair it was only party leaders, and only party leaders who were already elected to the Dáil.
Also I actually preferred the small parties’ contributions to the big three.

TBF they would have been accused of bias and selective politics if they had done it with less, next time they can take the smaller parties out of it based on the complaints by the public.

I think having all the parties on was a great idea. We need as many alternative voices as possible, and it’s only fair that smaller parties get a chance to bring their message to the people as well as the large parties.
There will still be a debate between the three main party leaders closer to the election. It’s good that we get the best of both worlds.

Watching last night it’s pretty clear why FG and FF always have (and will continue to) wiped the floor with other parties at election time.
PB4P, SF, Labour, SocDems, R2C and the Greens all have an awful lot of common ground, and would be far better off if they set aside their differences and formed a single electoral front. As it stands they are too busy shouting each other down to have any hope of governing.
