A very brave young lady, just a shame about the sentence being so short.

4 years, that’s it? The judge failed all women again. What’s a country of his origin, can he be deported after release?

Wow, this girl is BRAVE. Fair play to her for fighting for herself and recovering from such a horrible situation, especially in a small town where she couldn’t escape reminders. The man who hurt her is an animal who shouldn’t be allowed out in public because he will always be a risk.

What a scumbag. The poor girl, she was only a kid trying to make a little money and she gets sexually assaulted by a pervert.

    >She was further distressed by feeling that she had to leave her job while the accused man continued to work there for the past three years, even though she had reported to gardaí that he had sexually assaulted her.

The Emmet Hotel in Clonakilty. He continued to work there for **three years** afterwards!! Disgusting. Shame on the owners/management too.

What a brave young woman, I hope she has lots of good support at home.

Edit to add: find it a bit strange that there’s no explicit mention in the report of the fact that he sexually assaulted her when she was a **minor**.

Poor girl – I wonder how many cases of assault of all types go unreported tho because of the fear of being reported in the local paper – very many I would say – very brave girl, and may she find strength in her decision – she’s prob saved many others from a similar fate – people are scared to bring these cases because of the local paper side of it – the victim gets hit again with the publishing of it all and the perceived (to them) additional shame of the local talk .. 🗣️

Scumbag, brave girl waiving her anonymity. Hope she can move on with her life and enjoy herself. Can’t believe they let him keep working there, surely they heard about it.

On another note, are 15 year olds allowed to work legally? I was under the impression it was 16, surely a 15 year old being with an adult alone is somehow against child protection laws or labour laws or whatever? Am I missing something?

In the wise words of Jose morinio
If I say anything more I’m in a lot of trouble

    >Ms Bonny was advised that it might not be in her interests to waive her anonymity but it was clarified in court that she definitely wished to do so.

Feels like we are approaching a Rotherham style situation where the authorities are trying to to keep a lid on who is doing these crimes

Disgusting statement to make to a victim

I promise you this man wasn’t a model citizen in his homeland, and just couldn’t resist Irish girls when he landed. I’m sure he has a prior record for sexual assault but vetting wouldn’t be the right thing to do. Better to compromise the safety of our daughters, sisters and wives. It’s easier
