If you’re using Amazon, check out the Keepa plugin for Firefox. It will show you historically how prices have fared over a certain period. Amazon will say “20% discount” when it could have been cheaper the week before.
And don’t even start me with Harvey Norman’s “Black Friday” deals which go for weeks on end, when they’re not deal at all.

There’s a hair straightener on Amazon that I bought (full price) for €25 a few years back. Amazon now have it 73% off for… €25.
Boots are selling the same straightener for €109.99, BUT if you have a Boots advantage card, it’s €35.
I use the Honey extension to detect price increases/drops, highly recommend others do the same!
