>The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Gallant and Hamas leader Deif. In Belgium, among others, the umbrella organization of the Belgian North-South Association 11.11.11 reacted positively to the arrest warrant. According to the organization, the Criminal Court’s decision underlines the importance of international justice and the fight against impunity for war crimes.
>11.11.11 calls on the various governments of our country to immediately fulfill their obligations to the ICC and take concrete steps to comply with the orders. “This is a crucial opportunity for Belgium to strengthen its commitment to human rights and international justice,” the NGO said.
>Belgium’s outgoing development cooperation minister Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit) said in a reaction to VRT NWS that Belgium “will support the ruling and must also enforce it.” “That is also logical,” said the Flemish socialist: “We stand on the side of the victims and international law.” Vandenbroucke points out that this applies to Netanyahu, Gallant and Hamas leader Deif as well as to Russian President Vladimir Putin, against whom an arrest warrant is also pending.
>Belgium’s outgoing Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open VLD) and Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib (MR) have not yet commented for practical reasons.
This is not “leftist” propaganda, anti-semitism or any other political position. Netanyahu should be judged for genocide and war crimes and any country that calls itself “democratic” should comply with the ICC arrest warrant.
We will see again which governments defend international law and which ones only their biased interests in defense of a war criminal.

If he visited Belgium we could arrest him and have major issues with one of our most important allies the US. Or we could not arrest him and prove to the entire world that the ICC was always a stick from western nations the punish the global south and never a beacon of enlightenment and global cooperation.
I hope Netanyahu gets arrested and spends the rest of his miserable life in prison. I hope he will be forced to acknowledge his crimes against humanity. But I think he will get away with this as so many others have.

Cheers from Australia. Our government abrogated the war crimes issue in favour of domestic politics. UN vetos scuttle any decent action.

Nothing will happen, the USA won’t tolerate it
