Congratulations to Greece for finally joining Schengen with its land borders!

Yeah, we’re expected to be in by January 1, unless Netherlands votes no.

  3. Lifts my ass, we’ll see on december 12th if this stupid telenovela is over or not.

Yeeeah, something smells fishy, someone else is gonna use the veto. Sorry for the suspicion, but after 13 years, it sets in.

Nothing’s been decided yet, much less lifted. Don’t believe anything until it’s official, signed and dusted.

Which might be never, considering the direction the world is going for atm.

I understand that many Romanians might be suspicious until December 12th, but an announcement like this, including from Ursula von der Leyen, is not made if all things were not set and done and all possible stumbling blocks eliminated. It is different from what happened last year.

Heard something in the press about Austria wanting to buy gas from Romania instead of Russia, may be one of the reasons why the veto is lifted

    Thanks to US pressure.

And the fact that Austria is no longer getting russian gas, and wants it from Romania.

    > According to the joint statement signed on Friday, temporary border controls will be established between Hungary and Romania and between Romania and Bulgaria for at least six months to “prevent any serious threat to public policy and internal security.”

So it’s Schengen but not really. Also, according to some rumors, there’s a strong chance Netherlands will reconsider their position to approve Ro and Bg Schengen entry.
