Stavo cercando alcune squadre di calcio e mi sono imbattuto [FK Nevėžis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FK_Nev%C4%97%C5%BEis), il team locale di Kėdainiai, e Google lo traduce come [“Not Cancer”](https://i.imgur.com/J8pDKic.png) Prende il nome dal [Nevėžis river, and looks like it’s from some Finnish word](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nev%C4%97%C5%BEis), ma giusto per essere chiari, tutti voi avete davvero un fiume, una squadra di calcio e una squadra di basket che si traduce come “Non cancro” ?

No.
Cancer and/or Crayfish is written as “vėžys” and not “vėžis”. These might sound similar but are definitely not the same word.
Well, sort of but not really? The spelling isn’t exactly right and when you say it, the accent is on another syllable. So it neither looks, nor sounds similar enough to make us think about it. When I see or hear that word, all it makes me think of is the river itself, not cancer or crayfish, or any lack of it.
